Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC)

SSCC

The Serial Shipping Container Code is the identification of logistics units that need to be tracked through the supply chain with unique numbers are pallets, cases, or cartons that may be assigned to a specific customer, delivery, or purchase order.
This is illustrated as follows :
Prefixed with the Application Identifier '00' (orange), the SSCC contains a extention number (yellow), a GCP (dark red), a sequential number (yellow) allocated by the user company and a check digit.

The Logistic Label

The logistic label integrates several important components of the GS1 System. The example here reflects the richness of the GS1 System; with the robust GS1-128 data carrier, this label facilitates data capture of :
Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC; barcode below, which is the unique identification of this pallet; the SSCC is prefixed by the Application Identifier '00').
Consignment Number (in German : Lieferschein Nummer); first row of the barcode; the Consignment Number
is prefixed by the Application Identifier '401')
Weigth (in German : 'Gewicht'); first row on the right; the weight is prefixed by the Application Identifier '3300'.
Order Number of the Hospital (in German : Auftrag); is carried in the barcode (first row on the left) with the header '400'; in this example the Order Number is not included.
